Castelmola

On the road from Taormina to Castelmola an interesting site to visit is Casa Cuseni,
the private house and garden of the late owner Lady Daphne Phelps,
the famous writer of the book “A House in Sicily”.

Continuing up from the slopes of Monte Tauro we pass the area of Madonna della Rocca dominated by a medieval castle.

Proceeding still further we reach Cuculunazzo of Mola, a rocky area where some 8th century BC rock-cut tombs have been discovered.

Finally we reach Castelmola, situated on a rocky spur, in defense of the pearl of Sicily.

Even today, as witnesses of its past, there are remains of the castle together with characteristically narrow streets. From the belvedere one can enjoy the wonderful view of the coast sloping down to the Ionian Sea. In one of the bars in the main square we can taste the famous “almond wine”.

We can customize all types of tours according to your request and also provide air conditioned transportation to pick you up at the harbour or at your hotel.
